Tooth tissue engineering is based on the principle of tooth development, and introduce the mechanism and technology of tissue engineering into the research on repairing of injured tooth tissues and tooth regeneration. That is to say, isolating and culturing stem cells from adult tooth and lived in optimal environment to established tissue engineering tooth in vivo or in vitro. One of the key points is obtaining stem cells with strong proliferation and differentiation capability. This review focused on the research advances of the stem cells for tooth tissue engineering.
