Objective To compare the binding force among three different prefabricated posts and four different resin core materials. Methods Three types of posts with four types of cores(Parapost with ParaCore, Clearfill, Durafill and F2000, Tenax Fiber White post with ParaCore, Clearfill, Durafill and F2000, CW ceramic post with Clearfill) were made. The adhesive shearing strength between different posts and cores were measured by a universal testing machine. Results The binding force between parapost and cores was the highest in three posts. The binding force between posts and Paracore or Clearfill cores were higher than that between post and Durafill or F2000 cores. In all these four cores, the binding force between posts and F2000 was the lowest. Conclusion To achieve good clinical performance, mechanical lock is very important to retention of post and cores. In addition, core materials have high intension and good liquidity.
