Cobalt chloride, a hypoxia-mimicking agent, is widely used in the research of cell proliferation, differentiation and various hypoxic responses. The pulpal inflammation could result in hypoxia and subsequent pulp damage, and these studies on cobalt chloride may provide new methods to induce dental pulp cells hypoxiain vitro.
