Squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCCA) is squamous epithelial related antigen TA-4 isolated from cervical squamous epithelium and composed of SCCA-1 and SCCA-2 antigens. SCCA is closely related to carcinogenesis
of squamous cell carcinoma and an important marker exhibiting the biological features of SCC, being extensively studied in all kinds of human tumors. This article reviewed the SCCA expression in tissue and body fluids, it′s relationship with programmed cell death and many kinds of SCC.
