Matrix extracelluar phosphoglycoprotein(MEPE), which is one of the matrix extracelluar non-collagenous proteins, is expressed in bone, teeth and renal proximal convoluted tubules. It is considered to be a potential phosphatonin. And it plays an important role in bone formation and mineralization. ARASM fragments and dentonin/AC-100, motifs derived from MEPE, are the focus of recent research.
