Calcium hydroxide（CH） is used mostly as an intracanal medication in clinical situations. The disinfection of CH has been widely acknowledged. However, the current studies show that CH is not effective against for all bacteria, especially the root canal flora of refractory apical periodontitis, the antibacterial efficacy is not expected. The medicaments and clinical operation may influence the antibacterial efficacy.
