As a filling technique, the clinical effect of composite inlay is more and more popular. Composite inlay can enhance the physical property of composite filling, decreate the irritation to pulp and reduce the microleakage between the cavity and the filling. The principle, advantage and the clinical effect of composite inlay are summarized in this review.
