Proteome is a new research area of the post- genome era. In general proteome analysis includes the protein extracted from the cell or tissue analyzed and then sepatrated by high resolution two- dimensional gel electrophoresis. The separated protein can be identified by the mass spectrometric technique. At present，proteomic research is being concerned by people and has becomed a significant field in biotechnology. In this article, the key techniques in proteomic research and its application in stomatology are reviewed.
