Tooth development is characterized by polygenic inheritance. Environment can affect tooth development by controlling the phenotype of genes. It has been proved that many kinds of genetic diseases can influence the development of tooth, with symptoms of abnormalities in tooth structure, appearance. The aim of this article was to review the current researches about the effect of hereditary factors on the tooth development.
