Bone or bone substitute material graft is always introduced when the dental bone defect occurs due to trauma, infection, or tumor surgery. As the application of dental implants became more scientific, bone augmentation technique is now widely used and plenty of researches have been done on bone substitutes. Deminerlized dentin matrix（DDM） is a widespread osteoinductive material these years, because it is easy to obtain. This article is a general review and conclusion of the classification preparation, effect, biocompatibility and the mechanism of osteoinduction of DDM.
