Oral lichen planus(OLP) is a chronic autoimmune disease of oral mucosal accompanied with lesions of skin, gential tract, nails and hair. The histology of OLP is characterized by a dense subepithelial band-like infiltrate of T lymphocytes, disruption of the epithelial basement membrane and degeneration of basal keratinocytes. This paper reviewed the research progresses of CD4+/CD8+ T cells and OLP, memory/naive T cells and OLP, Th1, Th2, Th9, Th17 cells and OLP, regulatory T cells and OLP, etc.
