Advanced oxidative protein products（AOPP） are a complex group of oxidative products presented during the oxidative stress progress in vivo and are related to a series of pathophysiological reactions. This review will discuss the structure, and properties of AOPP, its synthesis, purification and identification, as well as its relationship with diabetes-associated periodontitis.
