The incidence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) infections is going up rapidly. There were renewed concerns for the severe harm to the life and health of people. MRSA infection is a common complication of surgery, which causes serious illness, and delayed wound healing, increased hospitalization and mortality increased duration, etc. Therefore, this paper reviews the prevalence, classification, major clinical manifestations, risk factors in oral and maxillofacial surgery, detection, prevention measures and the mechanism of drug resistance of MRSA.
