Core binding factor α1(Cbfα1) is a key gene in bone formation, which determines the mesenchymal stem cells differentiating to osteoblast. It’s available to control the differentiation of the bone cells, and maintain the normal skeletal development by adjusting the Cbfα1 expression. Mechanical strain promotes the expression of Cbfα1 by activating several signaling pathway, then adjusts skeletal development and formation, of which extracellular signal-regulated kinase1/2(ERK1/2) signaling pathway is a key one.
