Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a kind of low-grade malignant tumor which from large and small saliary gland or upper respiratory tract mucous gland，with a strong aggressive, often growing along and invading the nerves. Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the head and neck is rare, more rarely, occurred in the tongue. This paper reported one case occurred at the root of the adenoid cystic carcinoma, and discussed combining with document on its pathological clinical features and diagnosis, treatment.
