Polymerization shrinkage is one of the major deficiencies of resin composite, it may lead to gap between teeth and the filling resin composite, enamel cracks and cuspal deflection, and finally to restoration failure. Recently, a new low-shrinkage resin composite which is based on the new ring-opening silorane chemistry is made to overcome the problem. This review was to introduce the research progresses on the properties and adhesive system.
