Chronic diseases that cause serious adverse effects to human health, specifically periodontitis and hyperlipidemia, as well as the relationship between them have received increased research attention. These diseases may be related to bacteria and bacterial metabolites, products of inflammation, and immune responses. The present review introduces the clinical correlation and biological mechanisms between periodontitis and hyperlipidemia.
