Dental erosion is defined as the irreversible loss of dental hard tissue induced mainly by intrinsic and extrinsic acid not involving bacteria. Dental erosion has gained considerable attention because of its increased domestic and international prevalence. This paper presents a review of the domestic and international etiological and epidemiological profiles of dental erosion.
