Apatite-wollastonite bioactive glass ceramic（AW-BGC） has not only the excellent bioactivity and biocompatibility, but also the outstanding mechanical properties, so it has been widely applied and developed in clinical practice. The properties, applications and preparation of AW-BGC was introduced in this paper. And the developments of AW-BGC and its composite was reviewed and prospected.
