Zoledronic acids as third generation of nitrogen-containing bisphosphoates are potent inhibitors of bone resorption. Jaws are plasitic due to the high level of bone metabolism, so issues related to bone metabolism in stomatology are of important significance. The review presents in recent years’advances on topical application of zoledronic acids which affects bone metabolism in the aspects of implant, fracture healing, chronic periodontitis treatment, healing of tooth extraction and might bring about osteonecrosis of the jaw.
