As people pursue the beauty of teeth increasingly, tooth bleaching is widely accepted as a routine treatment in treating discolored teeth by most patients. Meanwhile, the recent popularity of tooth bleaching has had a significant impact on the practice of dentistry. While many orthodontic patients have received tooth bleaching treatment before, orthodontic brackets are bonded to the enamel of teeth. The effect of bleaching on the enamel surface morphology and on the bond strength between composite resins and the bleached enamel is worth paying attention by orthodontists. This review will illustrate the effect of tooth bleaching on the bond strength of orthodontic brackets.
