Micro-tensile bond strength tests have been widely used as a primary method to measure the dental bond strengths of dental adhesive systems. The dental bond strengths are potentially correlated with clinical effectiveness of resin restorations. The micro-tensile bond strength tests provide a clinical guideline of dental adhesive systems. Many factors will affect the micro-tensile bond strengths tested in laboratory studies, such as origin of teeth, regions of teeth, storage media, geometric shapes of specimens, size of cross-sectioned surfaces, sectioning speed and so on. This article systematically reviewed the effect of factors on the micro-tensile bond strengths.
