ObjectiveThis study aimed to establish reference data of facial soft tissue of Mongolian adults with normal occlusion of Inner Mongolia.MethodsSixty-eight male and 78 female students from Mongolian preparatory courses in Inner Mongolia universities were included in this study. Three-dimensional facial photos were obtained, and eight mark points were established on the software, and then the length of 12 line segments was measured. The obtained data were analyzed by double samplet-test to obtain reference data of facial soft tissue of Mongolian adults with normal occlusion.ResultsStatistical differences were found in terms of depth, height, width of forehead, upper face, and lower face between men and women (P<0 .05).ConclusionThis paper introduces a new method of using 3D stereophotogrammetry for measuring facial soft tissue. A database of facial soft tissue of Mongolian adults with normal occlusion was established.
