To meet the ever demanding rehabilitation standards set by parents of children with microform cleft lip anomalies, the author has been making persistent efforts in improving the surgical outcomes. Basing on understanding of the development mechanism of microform cleft lip, and the advantages and disadvantages of previous surgical techniques, new reconstructive technique was developed and introduced in details here. The cutaneous deformity would be the focus for the future efforts in microform cleft lip repair. Insatiable demands from parents of children with clefts would be the essential impetus for the advancement of cleft repair.
