According to the characteristics of randomness and intermittent of wind power,a multipoint DC voltage adaptive droop control strategy was proposed for the interconnection of wind farms by VSC-MTDC. Under this control strategy, all converters which have power regulation ability would share the task of stable dc voltage. The converter which has already operated closely to the rating would share little unbalanced wind power, meanwhile the converter which has much available headroom would share more unbalanced wind power, thus avoiding the possible overloading which may occur with fixed value of power-voltage droop. Finally, simulation was processed with PSCAD/EMTDC. The simulation results showed that the proposed control which needn’t communication, is suitable for interconnection by VSC-MTDC of wind farms whose flow changes frequently.
