In order to improve the shape memory effect of Fe14Mn6Si8Cr5Ni solid solution alloy, the effects of different electropulsing treatment on its microstructure and shape recovery ratio were investigated . The results showed that the shape recovery ratio of the alloy subjected to electropulsing treatment at 300 V, 1100 μf, 5 Hz for 10 times reached 55.9%, 26.2% greater than that without electropulsing treatment. In addition, it was found by metallurgical structure analysis that electropulsing treatment with great energy leaded to the decrease of thermo-induced ε-martensite and increase of austenite, and the amount of stress-induced ε-martensite in alloy following 5% tensile deformation was much more and their size was smaller. The mechanism that electropulsing treatment improved the shape memory effect of Fe14Mn6Si8Cr5Ni solid solution alloy was further discussed.
