Combined with FEA software, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and layer removal method, a comprehensive method of simulation-experiment was proposed for residual stress measurement in quenched aluminum alloy thick plates. Analysis of the results proved that the comprehensive method could compensate the shortcoming of a single method, and satisfy the validation and examination among methods on the stress-field of thick plate. It could be used to establish an effective FEM of residual stress in quenched plate, in which stress field of the whole plate can be obtained.And this method is also able to accurately predict the stress in plate, since the stress resulted by FEM match with experimental results and the average deviation of quenching stress is less than 10%.
