Multi-objective beneficial dispatch is a significant mean of getting more benefit for cascade reservoir in the Jinsha River. The key step of this problem is to control water allocation between different reservoirs and different operation tasks. Therefore, we analyzed competition or collision relationship among power generation, firmed output and navigation discharge of cascaded hydro plant. Based on engineering requirement of hydropower station in Jinsha River, a model of multi-objective beneficial dispatch for cascade reservoirs is developed. The purpose of this model is to maximize generating energy, firmed output and navigation discharge simultaneously. By a proposed mnulti-objective evolutionary algorithm, the Pareto optimal solution set is obtained, which provides scientific decision references for joint operation of cascade reservoirs in Jinsha River.
