Ring speed ratio and whirl ratio of shaft are critical indicators of power consumption and stability of floating ring bearing for turbocharger rotor system supporting.Based on the classic short bearing method,an analytical model of nonlinear dynamic oil-film force of floating ring bearing was presented,and precession angular velocities of floating ring and shaft were token into account in this model.The curves of ring speed ratio-shaft rotating speed and whirl ratio of shaft-shaft rotating speed were got.At different rotating speeds,the dynamic influence mechanisms of system parameters,i.e. eccentric mass,lubricant viscosity,structural parameters of floating ring bearing on speed ratio,and the sensitivity of speed ratio to parameters were studied.The results could be used as an reference to the R&D design of floating ring bearing and system performance evaluation of turbocharger rotor system.
