The projected HFE− scheme is the variation of HFE scheme applying projection and minus method. The paper studies the security of projected HFE− scheme, and presents an algebraic method to attack the scheme. A kind of weak keys is found. Part of private keys can be recovered efficiently if the scheme has weak keys.
