In order to investigate the mechanical behavior of multistory masonry structure with structure columns and ring beams under the different vertical load, 1∶4 reduced-scale model of six-storey masonry was tested, and the test parameters and fracture shape of the model under different vertical compression were obtained. The nonlinear finite element analysis results showed good agreement with the experimental results. The effects of structural height, structural column’s space, elasticity modulus and shear strength on the strength and deformation of multi-storey masonry were studied with the nonlinear finite element method, and the formulas of stress of composite wall with structure columns under the different vertical load and the recommended value of vertical drag coefficient were proposed.
