The hydraulic inverse problems can be applied in many fields such as comprehensive ecological improvement, groundwater resources protection, hydraulic engineering, ocean engineering etc. This paper broaden the concept of the inverse problems from synthesizing, controlling, classification and connect inputting, recognizing the system parameter to parameter control, source control, boundary control, initial control and shape control. In the solution of inverse problem, the paper advances some new theories such as pulse-spectrum method, discreticise-optimization method, perturbation method and modern controlling method etc. Based on these new methods, a series detailed steps to setting different problems are listed.
