To enhance stability of the MANET network with hierarchical structure and reduce the cost for calculation and communication, an improved weight-based clustering algorithm is proposed. According to the algorithm, the energy and motion of the nodes are considered, and the comparative average velocity is adopted as the most weight so as to enhance the stability of the clustering architecture and reduce the cost of clustering maintenance and improve the operating efficiency of the network. The simulation tests proved the effectiveness of this approach.
