Blast injuries to the maxillofacial region frequently leaves a lot of foreign substances in the skin, which are difficult to remove. Nowadays, methods for debridement of foreign substances in the skin after injury include washing and disinfection, picking, laser and erasion operation. However, these methods are poor for removing large numbers of fine foreign substances in superficial skin at early stages after injury, and debridement will result in scar formation. This article summarizes some information about the current development of the treatment of debridement of foreign substances in the skin, in order to improve level of clinical treatment.
