Carcinoma ex-pleomorphic adenoma is a rare and highly malignant type of salivary gland tumor. The tumor, which often occurs in the parotid gland, palate, and submandibular gland, is difficult to diagnose, easily recurs, and has poor prognosis. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of research progress on the clinical manifestations, pathological features, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of the tumor.
