Scheduling rules and operation processes of floodgate were fully considered,and the model of flood control operation was established based on multi step progressive optimal algorithm (MSPOA).Floodgate digital representative combination strategy was proposed and dichotomy was introduced to distribute the discharged flow of reservoir to floodgates.The optimal results of two typical floods showed that computing time of MSPOA decreases 43.2% and 64.0% compared with POA,respectively.MSPOA has a faster convergence speed,and could effectively overcome the local optimal defects.The flood control operation based on MSPOA and combined strategy have good practicability and maneuverability.
