The navigable condition is often worsen by the effect of unsteady flow caused by daily regulation of hydropower station. In order to reduce this kind of phenomenon, the control parameters need to be proposed which can give appropriate safety navigable waterways.According to the results obtained by one-dimensional mathematical model calculation and physical modelling experiment, the propagation characteristics of unsteady flow caused by daily regulation of Xiangjiaba hydropower station under different operating conditions in the dry season were illuminated. Its influences on water level amplitude, velocity, slope and other shipping hydro impact factors were analyzed. The self-propelled ship model test was used for giving the conditions of navigation in key leg upward. The results showed that the peaking and peaking amplitude variability of Xiangjiaba hydropower station should not be too large in a day.The water level downstream hub amplitude does not exceed the maximum hours of 1.5 m/h,and the maximum daily amplitude does not exceed 4.5 m/d, which will have minor impact on navigation of downstream.
