The conceptual model for effect of pumping well on two streams was developed.The three dimensional ground water model (interactive ground water model,IGW) was applied for simulating the conceptual model.All of the numerical solution was compared with Wilson’s analytical solution.Several examples were presented for illustrating the effect of pumping well on streams,which demonstrated stream depletion affected by the river shapes,the anisotropy and the clay lens in aquifer individually.The results showed the priority and the limitation of Wilson’s analytical solution.
