To reveal the mechanism of dynamic cross effect and the structural behavior change caused by adjacent buildings,two comparative models of soil-structure system were designed.Under the same site soil conditions,one model included a single upper structure,and the other included five.Two shake table tests were carried out to obtain the reaction of the critical parts of the structures under the ground vibration excitation.The results showed that under earthquake,there is a significant interaction among the structures inside high rise building group.The settlements and the tilts of group buildings increase over the separate one.The frequency of the structure decreases because of the existence of adjacent buildings.The adjacent buildings make the acceleration response and the top displacement of the structure increase or decrease,which depends on the input seismic waves.The middle building’s reaction of acceleration and displacement are stronger than the surrounding buildings.
