The slurry rheological properties of debris flow and its impact factors are major content of debris flow dynamics research. To study typical fine clay Rhelogical Properties of Prone Area of debris flow, this research selected typical soil of Xiao River basin in Yunnan province and the Bailong River in Gansu province. With rheological experiment, particle size experiment and mineral composition analysis method, it compared and studied the debris flow slurry rheological properties and its impact factors on red soil of Xiao River and yellow soil of Malan, Bailong River. It was found that along with the increase of density, shearing stress, yield stress and stiffness index of both red and yellow soil indicated a trend of growth, with more obvious growth range under high density. Besides, under the condition of same density, the three indicators of red soil were significantly higher than that of the yellow soil. Also, the shearing stress of red and yellow soil in index correlated to the volume concentration. For red and yellow slurry rheological properties, the impact of density was most significant. In addition, it was discovered that the grain size distribution, clay granule contents, mineral composition and its content were the important causes for the differences of red and yellow soil rheological properties as well. The research findings are hopefully of help to reveal the mechanism of debris flow hazard in the two areas.
