Abstract:The loading behaviors of the metal supporting structure with corrugated webs are greatly improved by the corrugation in the webs compared with that of the members with plain webs. The U-shaped supporting structure with corrugated webs is studied. The function relation between the structural section parameters such as the height and thickness of the webs, the width and height of the flanges, and the first-order elastic overall buckling load of the supporting structure under hydrostatic pressure is established by using orthogonal design method. Furthermore, the relationship between the section radius of the U-shaped supporting structure and the overall buckling load are also studied. Based on these, the formula of first-order elastic overall buckling load of the supporting structure is derived herein.
