Near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) technology was used to set up the quantitative model and fast determination of the content of traditional Chinese medicine geniposide extracted with the permeability method and purified using the macroporous resin .With the partial least squares (PLS) method to establish the models,the correlation coefficient (R) ,the root mean square error of calibration (RMSEC) and the root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) of extracting process mode were 0.997 48,0.588,and 0.536,respectively,and 0.996 40,0.308,and 0.298,respectively,for purification process quantitative model. It was concluded that NIR is a fast method to quantify the effective component content of traditional Chinese medicine gardenia during extracting and purification process.
