Slow strain rate tests were conducted in deaerated NS4 solution to research the behavior of stress corrosion cracking of X100 pipeline steels at different applied cathode potential. The results showed that the susceptibility of near-neutral pH stress corrosion cracking(NNpH-SCC) does not increase obviously at -900 mV SCE than that at open circuit potential. However, the NNpH-SCC susceptibility increases distinctly at -1 500 mV SCE than that at open circuit potential. The NNpH-SCC susceptibility at applied cathode potential were contrasted between X100 and X80 pipeline steel, which revealed that the NNpH-SCC susceptibility influenced by applied cathode potential of X80 pipeline steel is stronger than that of X100 pipeline steel.
