Parameter design of parallax barrier is one of the most important keys to design a one-dimensional integral imaging (1DII) display based on parallax barrier. To analyze the effect of aperture width on performance parameters in 1DII display, the relationship between the aperture width and viewing angle of a single slit was deduced and the calculation formula of the resolution was obtained through geometrical optics. According to elemental image crosstalk factor, the calculation formula of the viewing angle of the 1DII display based on parallax barrier was deduced. A prototype of the 1DII display based on parallax barrier was developed, and the experiment results showed that the resolution and the viewing angle of the 1DII display increase with the decrease of the aperture width of the parallax barrier. The conclusion provided a direction for the design of 1DII display based on parallax barrier.
