In order to improve the recovery efficiency of archives, a method of reverse differential archive is proposed． The archiving task is achieved by calculating the reverse difference set and reconstructing the latest files with differential files. In the process of file recovery, the reverse differential files are used to recover the file needed based on the time of the reverse. The experiment results indicate that this method can decrease recovery time remarkably，and improve efficiency of file recovery evidently over traditional file archive．
