AgOx thin films were prepared in Ag+-triethanolamine (TEA) aqueous solutions by using chemical bath deposition method, and the UV Vis light transmittance of AgOx thin film was investigated. The results showed that low films thickness is corresponded to short time or low temperature. AgOx film thickness is thinner when it is prepared at lower temperature or in shorter time. The crystallographic phase of deposited film is a mixture of Ag, Ag2O and AgO, and the AgO content of the AgOx films varies with the change of ratio of second TEA mass to first TEA mass. The light transmittance of film increases with the increase of AgO content in the films or the reduction of the film thickness. An obvious peak in the transmission spectrum was observed at a wavelength of about 300 nm, when the AgO content increases, the peak intensity increases and the peak position will show a red shift. Another peak in the transmission spectrum was observed clearly at a wavelength of about 980 nm, the peak intensity also increases with the AgO content increasing, and the maximum light transmittance is up to 70%.
