In order to study the densification of electric field rapid sintering, the incompletely disengaged hydrogen and gasoline pretreated NdFeB alloy compact was sintered by an electric field under the temperature of liquid Nd-rich phase. It was found that when the compact was heated with the heating rate of 500 ℃/s and sintered for 5 minutes at 600 ℃ by an electric field, the sintered compact finished densification.According to the analyses for the compact temperature characteristics of electric field sintering,it was suggested that in the course of temperature rising for the unpretreated NdFeB alloy compact, the high temperature caused by plasma, joule heat and field emission results in enormous instantaneous micro-zone high temperature fluid phases arising in the compact under the effect of huge current electric field, and rapid diffusion of the fluid Nd-rich phases, making the compact realize rapid sintering densification at low temperature.
